The aftercare for scar treatment

After the scar-correction under local anesthesia, you will be able to return to normal functioning within some hours after the operation. Since the nature, extent and location of scar correction can be very different, general tips for post-operative behavior are difficult to formulate.

Slight pain, later a pulling and burning sensation during healing of the wound area are not uncommon. Usually, these symptoms can be remedied by immobilization and appropriate medications.

Of course, the bandage should be worn exactly according to the doctor's instructions. The skin sutures are usually removed after one week.

You should never use scar creams without consulting your doctor. Of course, a step by step aftercare programme is recommended.

The final result of the scar correction depends on the type and size of the scar as well as on the postoperative behavior and suitable scar aftercare. It can take up to a year for the scar to mature enough for the final result to be known.
